VIDEO: James Bond author apologizes for calling Idris Elba ‘too street’

So I seriously am disappointed because I am a serious 007 fan and at the same time I feel like Elba would have made a perfect Bond. I just don’t get the “street” description of him. Given his roles in various shows, movies, he is just not “Street”…unless you choose to focus on The Wire role. Truly his body of work speaks for itself. The last thing I want to do is pull out the R word because I am a serious James Bond fan.

Here is a story from the Today show on the recent apology from Anthony Horowitz, author of the James Bond novel “Trigger Mortis,”  who apologized for saying earlier this week that actor Idris Elba would be “too street” to play the role of Bond.
